Ironman 70.3 Florida

April 15th, 2014 2:51pm

Florida 70.3 and the days preceding race day were great.  The weather was amazing and the people of Haines city were more than helpful in the setup and preparation.  I would surely call the crew adn residents top notch.  You could definitely see that the people of Haines City enjoyed the presence of Ironman and the number of people it brings to their community.   After Two days of Expo, the  Ironkids Race and Ironman Village, you could tell there was great anticipation for Race day.   Race day started off great and finished with a bang.  With over 1800 athletes who finished, the feeling in the air was nothing less than exciting.  I will definitely look forward to next years’ 2015 Florida 70.3

NOLA Ironman 70.3

April 15th, 2014 2:48pm

This race was a little different for us in that we were there with only one job, overseeing the Merchandise POS systems and helping out where we could.  Leading up to race was consistently busy in the Merchandise store with no problems with the computers, so that was good.  Due to the building layout that we were in loading out the store took a little longer that anticipated, and we finished at 3am.  Then we were back at 6am to head to the finish line in order to set up a smaller Merchandise store there.  A great race day out there.  The crew at Premiere Event Managament that puts on this race does an amazing job.  I look forward to returning to this event next year.

The Start of the Seson

April 6th, 2014 8:44pm

We have had an amazing start to this years event season.  We began with the Panama 70.3.  A very fun race to go to.  Working in another country allways brings chalanges.  But these chalanges are what we like, it is always good to meet them head on and still be able to put on a world class event.  From there we had the pleasure to work at the Augusta half marathon.  This is always one of our favorites, it is a well established race put on by an amazing crew that we just don't get to see enough of.  Next we headed down to San Juan for the Puerto Rico Marathon and Half Marathon.  This event is a little different for us in that we have the opportunity to run the merchandise.  Again another fun challenge.  We also go the opportunity to work with a very talanted local sound company that was insturmental in helping us provide the same level of service that we strive to bring to all of our events.  We also get to work witht the Si ...

Ironman Florida

November 2nd, 2013 9:48am

Traditionally one of the best races of the year, and this year was no different.  We had a slite weather scare the day before the race that brought rain, high winds, and high surf.  But the next morning proved to be perfect, and the race went on without a hitch.  The week as a whole was just as perfect.  We had the opportunity to be back up announcer to Dave Ragsdale, and Dave D. did a fantastic job.  Andy Wild had another opportunity to shocase his announcing skills by doing the Kids Race, earninng him the new title of "Voice of IronKids."  As allways there were a few things that  came up that we were able to meet head on and get taken care of inorder to put on another seamless event.

Austin 70.3

October 27th, 2013 9:32am

Great race for us.  We had the opportunity this weekend to not only cover all of the sound, temporary power, and I.T. needs, but to also be first and second announcer.  This turned out to be a great fit.  Andy Wild truly did a fantastic job as the lead announcer.  It alleviated some of the stress from an event and everything worked out perfectly.

Ironman Wisconsin

September 18th, 2013 10:57am

Madison, Wisconsin remains one of my favorite places on the Ironman circuite.  There is something abou how the whole town supports the race that creates a perfect environment.  In addition I think we may have had the very best race day weather I have ever seen.  Overcast, a little breaze, and about 75 degrees.  BCC Live had another great event to boot.  As always we try to make the event as good as it can possibly be, and that means having our hands in everything.  Banquet production to expo sound and announcing on into race day production.  Working with the live video feed, providing the music and atmosphere.   As always we had a great time doing it.

Ironman Louisville

August 25th, 2013 8:04am

Another great year in Louisville Kentucky.  With nearly 3000 athletes this year the race was absolutely huge.  We did something a little different at the welcome banquet, using eight QSC K12 speakers instead of our normal JBL 700's.  The room is an absolute echo chamber, and this really helped.  For the finish line we were able to use 4th Street lives set up.  A huge improvement from last year.  It truly was one of the best finish lines I have ever seen.  Dave Ragsdale was excellent as always, and BCC Live's very own Andy Wild was an incredible back up.

Syracuse 70.3

June 25th, 2013 12:00am

With over 50% more athletes this year, the 2013 Syracuse Ironman 70.3 was a great warm-up for the Lake Placid full.  The Expo has moved to Jamesville Beach, consolidating the entire event to the race site.  Joe Gambles took the lead during the bike and never looked back.  As for the woman, Sweden’s Lisa Norden is proving to be a force to be reckoned with, finishing over 22 minutes ahead of 2ndplace and 7th overall.  Mother Nature was the only thing that could cool off Syracuse’s heat, unleashing a monster storm about 7 and a half hours into the event.

Ironman 70.3 Mont Tremblant

June 23rd, 2013 12:00am

Another great event.  Mont Tremblant raises the bar to a new level of event production.  BCC Live was on site in an I.T. support capacity, but it was still very evident that the entire production crew definetly know what they are doing. A rainy Saturday had us worried about race day.  Fortunatly we had beautiful race weather, making for a phenominal race.  We are excited to be back for the full Ironman in August.

Ironman 70.3 Florida

May 19th, 2013 12:00am

Yet another succesfull event is in the books.  Last year at this event we were met with terentual downpours for the first two days.  This time the weather was perfect, all weekend.  We were lucky enough to have a major part in the IronKids triathlon on saturday, providing sound and some anouncing for the event.  On Sunday the 70.3 could not have gone better.  Great sound throughout the entire venue.  We even had a final finisher that was reminisent of a full Ironman.  The final finisher was a 74 year old athlete that literally fell across the finish line two seconds before the official cutoff.  Always cool to see the athletes lay it all out there at the end.

St. George

May 8th, 2013 12:00am

The weather could not have been better for the inaugural St George 70.3 Ironman.  The Town Square was the perfect new venue for the Expo.  With over 90 pros in the field and 2500 athletes, St George continues to stand out as one of the premier courses on the circuit.

Puerto Rico Marathon

May 5th, 2013 12:00am

We had a great time at the first anual Puerto Rico Marathon.  Being a first year event it was not without a few little hickups, but as always we were able to adapt and overcome.  We had the opportunity to handle merchandise for the event. Thank to some wonderful local help it was a painless experience and we just about sold out of all of our product.  For race day we were able to provide sound at both the start and the finish, as well as some announcing.  We also had the opportunity to do some course work.  Starting at 12:45 am was interesting, but it was nice to see that part of the race.  San Juan is a late night town, which was very evident during set up at 3 am sunday morning.  But in the end the event was a huge success.

A special shout out to race director Kyle Myers.  He truly did an amazing job with this event.  I really do not think it would have gone nearly as smooth as it did without his expertise.

Ironman 70.3 New Orleans

April 21st, 2013 1:13pm

Last weekend BCC Live was in New Orleans providing tec support for Ironman Merchandise.  We had the opportunity to showcase our skills when one of the POS systems needed to have its operating system and POS software reinstalled.  Through our person in the field and support from Boulder we were able to acquire all necessary components and software and revive the damaged system.

We also had an issue with the main merchandise server in that we needed a new one.  We were able to utilize another lap top on site by transfering the hard drive from the damaged server to the new.  After a few component downloads we were up and running, with no revenue lost over the weekend due to I.T. problems.  Over all it was a good weekend for BCC Live.
